Botany Church Plant
1 Corinthians 3:5-9
5 What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. 7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.
In 2010 a small group of people from Wild Street church will begin to meet, pray, dream and plan about the future of a new church plant in the Botany area. It is our hope and prayer that God would enable us to start a church in Botany that reaches out to more people with the gospel of Jesus.
Kurt Peters will lead the initiative. This group will meet monthly to talk through the long-term viability of the church plant looking at the way forward.
Activities for 2010
1. GO Groups – we want to start with 2 GO groups meeting in homes during the week. By mid year we aim to start a 3rd group and by the end of 2010 a 4th.
2. Botany BBQ's
a. Jan-Jun - For the first 6 months the core group will meet once a month to spend time praying, eating, chatting about the way forward in Botany.
b. Jul-Dec – For the second 6 months the core group will meet once a month to run outreach events aimed at drawing more people into the core group
